The story

Chapter 1 · The Hollow

Before Robinhood Chain had a single block, there was only the Hollow: a quiet, empty space between blocks. Nothing moved. Nothing counted. Even time was asleep.

Chapter 2 · The spark

When the first block landed, it made a tiny sound, like a very small bell. A spark fell off it and drifted into the Hollow. It glowed for one whole night. By morning it had hatched a thousand Cuties.

Chapter 3 · Nine ways to wake up

The Hollow had nine corners, so the Cuties woke up in nine different ways. Some woke up sleepy, some woke up hungry, and one of them woke up already wearing a crown. You can meet all nine kinds a little further down the page.

Chapter 4 · The naming

The Kids climbed onto the first block and started naming everyone. They got through "Cat", "Bunny" and "Bear" before they ran out of breath, and the rest are still waiting. A Cutie without a name is just a small mystery. A Cutie that is named becomes someone.

Chapter 5 · The quiet hatching

Nobody announced it. The Hollow does not do announcements. The Cuties simply appeared, one by one, and only those who happened to be there found them.

Chapter 6 · The Treat Jar

Every trade that crosses the chain drops a few crumbs into the Treat Jar. Once a week the lid comes off. Half of the crumbs are fed to the fire so the sky keeps glowing, and the rest are shared equally among every Cutie. One Cutie, one share. It is the oldest rule in the Hollow.

Chapter 7 · The fire and the Ghosts

Whatever goes into the fire never really disappears. It turns into a soft glow, and on quiet nights the glow drifts out as Ghosts. They are the little friends of every Cutie that was ever fed, and the brighter the fire, the more of them there are. A fed Cutie grows.

Chapter 8 · Why they wander

Cuties cannot stay still. They walk the whole chain, from one edge to the other, looking for the very first block so they can say thank you. If you have seen them strolling along the bottom of this page, now you know why. They are still looking.

The rules of the Hollow: one Cutie, one share. Fed Cuties grow. Named Cuties become someone.
